
An exciting film festival with free movie screenings will showcase contemporary Chinese culture at ³Õºº¾ãÀÖ²¿ next week.
Organised by ³Õºº¾ãÀÖ²¿’s Confucius Institute, The Australian-China Youth Association at ³Õºº¾ãÀÖ²¿, and supported by ³Õºº¾ãÀÖ²¿ Life, the two new movies afford a rare opportunity for Brisbane cinema-goers to enjoy Chinese-produced action and comedy blockbusters free on the big screen.
³Õºº¾ãÀÖ²¿ Confucius Institute Director Professor Ping Chen said he was delighted to invite the general public to exclusive screenings of two contemporary Chinese films.
“This is the second year we have held a Chinese Film Festival at ³Õºº¾ãÀÖ²¿ and we are excited to bring these films to students and staff as well as to the broader community, highlighting the depth of movie-making talent which now exists in China,” Professor Chen said.
“Detective Dee: The Four Heavenly Kings and Oolong Courtyard are fantastic films to entertain the audiences.”
µÒÈʽÜÖ®ËÄ´óÌìÍõ Detective Dee: The Four Heavenly Kings (MA15+) is all action. Detective Dee faces a formidable foe while investigating a crime wave marked by strange and seemingly supernatural occurrences.
ÐÂÎÚÁúÔº Oolong Courtyard (M) is a kung fu action-comedy. Apprentices at the Oolong Courtyard School are suspicious when two outsiders try to join the prestigious academy despite their strange behaviour.
The movies will be screened on Thursday 4 and Friday 5 October at ³Õºº¾ãÀÖ²¿’s St Lucia campus.
